Since you kept reading, let me do this properly! I’m Alessia; petite, positive, quick to laugh, and curious in a way that has never once been cured. I take very little too seriously, myself least of all. I collect questions the way other people collect wine (well, I also love wine on occasion).
The mind

I have a degree from the top university in Canada; and I’m back for my master’s for a complete career switch, one I’m genuinely excited about. I read nonfiction and dystopian sci-fi, love podcasts, and lately I have fallen down the research on desire, novelty, and the psychology of why we want what we want. A well-told founding story interests me more than it should, and the current obsession is AI, what can be built with it and where it’s going. I’m a huge tech nerd, and your work stories will hold my attention longer than you expect. Painting, and music often fill my weekends: indie, jazz, jam bands, electronic music- I love it all. I’m also learning music production and have produced my first song, shall we say…. semi successfully.

At any given moment I have three projects going and a fourth being brainstormed. Mine is a creative mind, for better, and occasionally for chaos. I run a business of my own, I’ve recently fallen for painting and sketching, and there is always a next trip being planned. That said, I love to relax, unwind, spoil myself and be spoiled. This piece of my world is part of that.
The appetite
Fed well, travelled far.
My summers growing up were spent in Europe, which explains my food obsession and the conviction that conversation over a long dinner is a complete evening. These days my life is split between Toronto and Europe, and I’ll be wintering in Madrid this year. My passport is very well used, and I’m not close to being done. I will eat anywhere from a small night market to a tasting menu at a Michelin restaurant booked a season in advance. There is very little I won’t try. Don’t even get me started on my sweet tooth. Luckily, I love to live an active lifestyle; lifting weights, snowboarding, hiking, yoga, etc.

My requirements are pretty straightforward, I think anyways. Kindness, respectfulness, and the ability to laugh at yourself here and there. Beyond that, I am easy to get along with, though I am built for connection, conversation, and the lingering kind of company. I keep this world small and entirely separate from my other one, which means I choose carefully to ensure I continue to truly enjoy this world, and prefer what lasts. Bring me your stories; I love to learn about you. Bring me the thing you cannot say at home or the office: the half-formed idea, the decision you keep circling, the story nobody else has time for. I am a very good audience, and an even better vault.
